Founded in 2013, Community Food Bank (CFB) serves as a vital lifeline for individuals and families across Citrus, Hernando, and Sumter counties who are confronting the challenges of food insecurity. Our core mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. As economic pressures continue to affect households of all backgrounds - including working adults, young families, and senior citizens - CFB is dedicated to responding with compassion and purpose. Through fundraising efforts, food collection initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we provide essential resources to more than 60 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, ministries, and other community agencies, empowering them to serve those in need with dignity and care.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to fostering awareness, inspiring community involvement, and advancing collaborative solutions to hunger. By connecting generous donors and volunteers with a network of frontline service providers, CFB plays a central role in strengthening regional food security and building a more resilient community. We are guided by principles of integrity, empathy, inclusivity, and excellence in all that we do, striving each day to end hunger and nourish hope throughout the Nature Coast.
