New Melle Farmers Market Under New Ownership

The New Melle Farmers Market is proud to announce a new chapter under new ownership and leadership beginning January 2026, with the new market season officially launched in April 2026.

This transition marks a renewed commitment to strengthening local agriculture, supporting small businesses, and creating a welcoming community gathering place for families throughout New Melle and the surrounding St. Charles County area.

Now operating as a professionally managed nonprofit organization registered with the State of Missouri, the New Melle Farmers Market has established a strong operational foundation designed for long-term community growth and sustainability. The organization was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The New Melle Farmers Market currently maintains:

Active Missouri nonprofit registration
A valid New Melle business license
Federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit status listed with the IRS
Compliance with St. Charles County Health Department requirements
Active liability insurance coverage
An operating Board of Directors
Membership connections with two farmers market associations

Market leadership says the goal is to preserve the small-town charm residents love while building a more organized, transparent, and community-focused market experience.

“We're excited to continue growing a farmers market that truly belongs to the community,” said market leadership. “From local produce and handmade goods to educational opportunities and family events, we want the New Melle Farmers Market to be a place where neighbors gather and local businesses thrive.”

The nonprofit mission of the organization includes supporting local farmers, growers, food producers, and artisans; increasing access to fresh, locally produced food; promoting agriculture and sustainability education; and strengthening community connections through the operation of a nonprofit farmers market serving the New Melle region.

Since launching the 2026 season in April, the market has focused on expanding vendor participation, improving operations, and developing partnerships that support the local community and rural economy.
