DEA Citizens Academy
Description
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration El Paso Division is accepting applications for the 2024 DEA Citizens Academy. The academy is part of DEA’s Operation Engage Albuquerque initiative that welcomes community leaders to learn about DEA’s mission and drug demand reduction efforts that address the drug poisoning and overdose epidemic facing our communities. Six evening sessions will be held May 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Classes will be led by DEA professionals including Executives, Special Agents, Intelligence Analysts, and the Public Information Officer. Topics to be addressed include DEA foreign/domestic operations, local drug trends, clandestine laboratory briefing, tactical training, special operations, and community outreach & prevention programs. To request an application, please contact Community Outreach Specialist Michelle Rincon at Michelle.Rincon@dea.gov. Application deadline will be April 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
