Event Name:
Wild & Scenic Film Festival
Description
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is returning to the shoreline! Once again, the Madison and Clinton Land Trusts are teaming up to bring this globetrotting event to our area. Our goal is to engage our communities, increase environmental awareness, and inspire people to become active in protecting and preserving our beautiful shoreline habitats.

Wild & Scenic is a film festival with a purpose, bringing together storytellers and stories that reflect a love and appreciation of the natural world.  The evening will feature a series of 11 short award-winning environmental and outdoor adventure films from around the world. These films illustrate the Earth’s beauty, yet show the challenges facing our planet and the communities working to protect it.

The event’s emcee is Bill Lucey, the Long Island Soundkeeper with Save the Sound.

The festival’s special guest is Pete Malinowski, founder of the Billion Oyster Project, a nonprofit organization on a mission to restore oyster reefs to New York Harbor through public education initiatives.  Malinowski is featured in the festival’s anchor film, “The Big Oyster.” He will discuss the film with Bill Lucey and the audience after it is shown.

The Madison and Clinton Land Trusts are non-profit volunteer organizations.  The festival is a joint fundraising effort to preserve open space and natural resources in both communities.  The land trusts are grateful for support from their many local sponsors.
