March 21 - Anna Redsand will discuss the life and literary works of Nella Larsen, the daughter of immigrants from Denmark and the Danish West Indies whose novels, short stories, and Danish children’s games and rhymes made her a significant figure in the Harlem Renaissance.

April 18 - A New Beginning: Life on the Front Lines with Anna Eckhoff. Danish author Anna Eckhoff will be at the museum to discuss her life and book, "A New Beginning: Life on the Frontlines". At the age of 56, Eckhoff left her career as an IT manager to pursue her passion for travel and service. Putting her accounting skills to work, Eckhoff first joined the Danish Refugee Council in their work in Russia. From then on, she spent many years working at various NGOs on the ground at the front lines of many world conflicts. She returned to Denmark at 71 to work on her book.

May 16 - Runestones & Runic Inscriptions with Loraine Jensen. What are runes? What does runic writing teach about our Scandinavian ancestry? This presentation will provide an overview of the thousands of runestones existing today, primarily in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, with some being researched in North America. Examples of runes in pop culture will be shared along with highlights of a recent “Rune Round” that took place in Denmark with a group of Americans and Canadians, coordinated by Loraine.
