29th Annual Railroad Days Celebration has the theme: "Gandy Dancer... Pride of the West" August 18-21, 2011. Family fun for Everyone!
Aug.18: Thursday night: Railroad Days Kick-Off Community B.B.Q.Picnic. Come enjoy the Railroad Days BBQ Kick-Off Picnic provided by the Railroad Days Committee and local churches,and City of Portola. Enjoy the music of Hot Sax. Bring a blanket or a lawnchair to sit on.
Aug.19: Friday Vendor set-up and activities in the City Park and Friday evening: Stars in the Barn "Spirit" at the Barn in Blairsden from 8 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. Please be there at 8 P.M. For tickets call 530-836-6811.
Saturday: Rotary Club of Portola Breakfast from 8 A.M. to 11 A.M., Domes to Railroad Days arrives, Golden Spike Parade, Spike Driving Contest, Fine Arts Show at The Feather Arts Center and Wine Tasting at Nakoma, entertainment at Center Stage and at the City Park, activities at the City Park for the children and the Western Pacific Railroad Museum.
Saturday evening: Stars in the Barn "Spirit" at the Barn from 8 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. on the corner of Highways 89 & 70 please be there by 8 P.M. To purchase tickets call 530-836-6811.
Sunday: Willie Tate Memorial River Run, Fishing Derby, entertainment at Center Stage, the Lucky-Ducky Race and
Bounce House and activities at the Portola City Park.
