Event Name:
3rd Annual Hike to End Hunger
Description

ONE in SIX Bernalillo County residents and a QUARTER of our kids do not have enough food. We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 to HIKE TO END HUNGER so that Rio Grande Food Project (RGFP) can continue its critical mission of providing emergency food aid to 420 households every week or 4,230 kids, adults and seniors every month. We hike to raise awareness, to strengthen our resolve to end hunger and to increase support and funds for RGFP, the largest food pantry on Albuquerque's west side. With 1.1 million pounds of food passing through our doors annually, we envision a community where EVERYONE has enough food to live healthy, active lives. Along with food aid, RGFP also provides access to community partners who address the causes and effects of food insecurity so residents can achieve long-term success and stability. We also grow supplemental produce in our Hunger Relief Community Garden onsite.
