Come and enjoy the Annual Portola Railroad Days Celebration in Portola, CA. This year's theme: "Tracking Across the Sierras" celebrating 100 yrs. of the first WP passenger train over Western Pacific tracks. Thursday night the Community Kick-Off Picnic will be held at the Portola City Park at 5:30 P.M. Come enjoy live music and entertainment. Friday, Aug. 20th arrival of the Feather River Express will arrive at the Portola Railroad Museum to help celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the first passenger train over the Western Pacific Railway. Enjoy food and arts & craft booths from 4 P.M. to 10 P.M., Latino Dance Celebration, Chainsaw Art Demostrations, Model Railroading, Train rides, Railroad demonstrations and entertainment at Center Stage on Commercial St. Stars in the Barn-Friday, Aug. 20 at 8 P.M. & Aug. 21 at 4 P.M. & 8 P.M. - A spectacular Fresian Horse Show and Event has been planned in the Graeagle area at the Corner Barn on the right on highways 89 & 70. After the parade visit the Mountain Madness Car Show, enjoy music and entertainment at Center Stage, a variety of food vendors and arts & crafts booths 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. will be available, join in the Horseshoe Tournament, Softball Tournament, learn about wild animals at the Wild Things Animal Show, Chainsaw demonstrations, visit the Feather River Express, participate in the Iron Horse Spike Driving Contest, model railroading, take a Train Ride, watch slideshow of Railroad History.
