2010 Tucson Epilepsy Walk
Description
The 2010 Walk benefits the programs of the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona. 1 in 100 people have been diagnosed with epilepsy 65000 in Arizona. The event benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona and is lead by this year’s Walk Director, Dr. David Labiner of Tucson. Why: The Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona has spent 2009 developing and promoting public education and programs that foster community awareness to improve the health care and community support available to persons affected by epilepsy. Proceeds will allow for the continuation of those programs and Camp Candlelight, support groups and education conferences. Sponsorships and ticket sales will also help to pilot our Veteran’s program, as chorus of concern is rising among veterans’ advocates and medical experts who understand the heightened risk America’s returning war heroes have for a range of posttraumatic epilepsy.
