Diablo Trail 50K
Description
The Diablo Trail 50K is a point-to-point ultra-marathon starting at Round Valley Regional Preserve in Brentwood and follows the Diablo Trail to Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek. The Diablo Trail is featured on the Mount Diablo Trail Map produced by Save Mount Diablo. The trail winds through Round Valley, Morgan Territory, Mount Diablo State Park and Shell Ridge Open Space. The course is challenging and fully supported. The event includes post race lunch and t-shirt for all participants.

Course: Course will travel through Round Valley, Morgan Territory, Mount Diablo State Park and Shell Ridge Open Space and finish at Castle Rock Park (Diablo Foothills Regional Park) in Walnut Creek. The course is challenging (steep climbs, descents and creek crossings), well marked, and will feature five aid stations and support vehicles. Runners are encouraged to buy the Diablo Trail map from Save Mount Diablo to get familiar with the course (also includes an elevation profile for the Diablo Trail).

Date/Time/Place: March 21, 2010. Run starts at 8:00 am. Drive to the finish area at Castle Rock Park in Walnut Creek; a bus will provide transportation to the start at Round Valley in Brentwood. Bus Departs at 6:30 am. Take whatever you need on the bus; we will transport items from the starting area back to the finish at Castle Rock Park. All runners must check in at the start in Brentwood between 7:00 and 7:45 am. If you drive to the start, please make arrangements to get a ride back to Brentwood.
