This U.S. Army installation, established in 1877 and located in Cochise County, southeast Arizona, serves as a critical hub at the leading edge of the nation's defense. Fort Huachuca is the largest employer and economic contributor in Cochise County, Arizona. The installation develops and tests command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. It also delivers intelligence and uncrewed aircraft systems training and education, designs and integrates intelligence capabilities, concepts, and doctrine, and provides world-class support services to its community. Its unique operational environment includes 946 square miles of restricted airspace and 2,500 square miles of protected electronic ranges, vital for national defense missions.
