Mat-Su Community Theatre Arts, or MASCOTarts, is an Alaska 501c3 Non-Profit theatre education organization established in 2023 by arts lovers dedicated to fostering professional arts education in the Mat-Su valley. The organization's board, directors, and educators comprise theatre professionals with over 80 years of combined experience. MASCOTarts aims to create and foster a love of theatre in the Mat-Su community by providing education, opportunity, and space for stagecraft to grow.
They offer a variety of programs including musical theatre camps like Shrek Jr. and How I Became A Pirate – Younger@Part, technical theatre camps, and a range of youth education classes covering dance (Intro to Tap, First Steppers, Musical Theatre Dance, Stage Sprouts), art (Colorful Creations, Drawing I), and theatre (Creative Drama, Drama Llamas, Stage and Scholar, Build-A-Skill Workshop, Drama Club, Prop Making, Costume Construction, Triple Threat Masterclass). Additionally, MASCOTarts hosts community events such as the Spotlight Series, which features professionally filmed Broadway shows for teens, encouraging appreciation and exposure to the arts.
