Southern Idaho, located in south-central Idaho, is recognized as America's Most Diverse Food Basket, with the mighty Snake River and its magnificent canyon defining the landscape around cities like Twin Falls and Jerome. The region is a key U.S. Manufacturing Community for food, excelling in agriculture, agri-business, food processing, food science/R&D, and related support services such as warehousing and transportation.

Beyond food, Southern Idaho is a leader in green energy, generating power from hydro, wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal sources. The "Magic Valley" region, comprising eight counties including Twin Falls, Jerome, Burley, Rupert, and Heyburn, is a prime economic hub. It boasts significant dairy production and processing, supported by a strong workforce development program through the College of Southern Idaho. The area attracts major employers due to its pro-business environment, abundant natural resources, and diverse cultural events.
