Beisser Lumber Company has proudly served Iowa’s builders, contractors, and homeowners since its founding in 1953 in Fort Dodge. Built on strong family values and a commitment to quality, the company expanded to Des Moines in 1979 and continued to grow as demand increased across the region. After overcoming challenges such as flooding in West Des Moines, the business relocated to Grimes in 1999, positioning itself in a rapidly developing community and strengthening its ability to serve customers with dependable building materials and expert support.

Continued growth has shaped Beisser Lumber Company into one of Iowa’s trusted lumber suppliers. Expansions have included the addition of a millwork warehouse in 2003, a Coralville location in 2005, and a custom door shop in Grimes that produces thousands of doors each month. In 2017, the company broadened its capabilities by offering Engineered Wood Products through a partnership with Weyerhaeuser. Today, leadership continues with Dave Ling, carrying forward the legacy of a family-owned lumberyard dedicated to quality products, knowledgeable service, and supporting the communities it serves.
