Nine Star Enterprises, founded in 1976 by David S. Alexander along with John and Linda Hulbert, has grown from a small training institution into a leading nonprofit dedicated to workforce development, education, and community services across Alaska. Originally part of the Alaska Center for Staff Development, Nine Star became a private nonprofit in 1978 and merged with SITACOR in 1988 to form the organization known today. With multiple locations in Anchorage and Wasilla, Nine Star serves thousands of Alaskans each year, offering programs that empower youth, adults, seniors, and individuals facing barriers to employment.
Our comprehensive services include adult basic education, GED and ESL programs, youth employment services, returning citizens’ support, and subsidized employment initiatives. Through partnerships with AmeriCorps, local nonprofits, and government agencies, Nine Star provides holistic support that builds skills, strengthens workforce readiness, and creates lasting community impact. With a longstanding reputation for quality programs and consistent growth, Nine Star Enterprises continues to improve lives throughout the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Anchorage, and beyond.
