Colony Kitchen
Home

Colony Kitchen in Palmer, Alaska, we’re proud to continue the rich tradition of hospitality and home-style cooking that first began in 1985 when Bill and Glenda Nafus opened what was then the Frontier Café. After four years of perfecting hearty, comforting meals and building strong connections with the local community, they moved their roots to the current location and reopened as Colony Kitchen in 1989. Over the years, the welcoming spirit of the kitchen and lively conversations among guests led many to affectionately call us the Noisy Goose Café, a name that reflects the warm, vibrant, and friendly atmosphere you’ll still find today.

We’ve grown into a beloved family-friendly restaurant where locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy classic American favorites any time of day. From comforting breakfasts and satisfying lunches to dinner specials like prime rib on Sundays, our menu celebrates timeless flavors made with care, served with genuine Alaskan hospitality. Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty meal, catching up with neighbors, or bringing the whole family together, Colony Kitchen is where good food and good company come together in the heart of the Matanuska Valley.
