Established in 1987, the organization was founded on the belief that local challenges are best addressed through local solutions, ensuring that resources raised in the community directly support education, financial stability, health, and overall well-being for Mat-Su residents.
For more than 35 years, United Way of Mat-Su has remained an independent and trusted leader in the region’s nonprofit sector, working alongside businesses, nonprofits, faith-based groups, and government partners to create lasting impact. Guided by strong volunteer leadership and a commitment to accountability, UWMS continues to move individuals from poverty to possibility, empower youth, and build strong, healthy, and connected communities across the Mat-Su Valley.
