Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter
Home

(Friends) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. As a fundraising partner, Friends addresses critical needs that extend beyond the Shelter's operational budget, ensuring every pet has the best opportunity to find a loving forever home. The organization funds vital programs such as lifesaving and life-improving medical care for injured, ill, or abused pets, a senior pets medical voucher program, and dental care for animals with severe periodontal disease.

Additionally, Friends supports rabbit spay/neuter services, comprehensive parasite prevention for all dogs, cats, and rabbits, and provides leashes and personalized collars for adopted pets. A significant focus is also placed on community cat welfare through funding spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations as part of the Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) Program, alongside general support for the Shelter's enrichment initiatives.
