Better Vision for Children

Welcome to the Better Vision for Children Foundation (BVC), a non-profit organization headquartered in Mission Viejo, CA, dedicated to preventing and curing partial or total blindness resulting from amblyopia, or lazy eye, in children. Our mission revolves around early detection, education, and accessible treatment. BVC actively disseminates information to parents, preschools, and children's homes, emphasizing the significance of preschool eye testing and subsequent corrective measures performed by experienced professionals. Through mass screening initiatives for one-to-four-year-olds, financial support for prescription eyewear, and global outreach programs in Africa, we are committed to ensuring that every child, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, has the opportunity for early intervention and comprehensive eye care.

In the United States, only 3–4 percent of children receive eye care services before the age of six, highlighting the urgency of our mission. Early detection is pivotal in preventing and curing childhood vision issues, and BVC strives to address this gap by actively engaging communities, raising awareness, and providing tangible support. Your contributions, regardless of size, play a crucial role in advancing our goals—supporting education, detection, and treatment of amblyopia among underprivileged children. Together, with your help, we envision a future where every child has the chance for better vision and an unhindered path to success. Join us at BVC in our mission to transform lives, ensuring that no child's potential is limited by preventable vision issues.
